He was predeceased by: his mother Imogene Gentsch. He is survived by: his wife Janis Marie Leath; his sister Judy Germany; his stepbrothers, Curtis, Mike, Paul and John Wolfe; his stepsibling's children, Deborah Benge (Phillip) and Bill Gentsch (Michelle); his grandchildren, Nathaniel (Rachael), Marcus, Brandon and Lexie; and his great grandchildren, Kellen, Idalia and Elias.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Little Elm Area Foodbank (leafb.org), a family endeavor started by Lewis's bonus-mom Pearl Wolfe Gentsch.
