He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Charlotte DeYoung (Sorgdrager); his wife Heidi DeYoung; his son Tyson DeYoung (Marissa); his grandson Trevor DeYoung; his daughter Alysia Chism (Dustin); his grandchildren, Anton Chism (Desirae) and Amaya Chism; his stepdaughter Meagan; his stepgrandchildren, Coben, Izabella, Kiana and Myron; his siblings, Sandra Phelps (Steve) of Marshalltown, MN, Nancy Smithson (George), Janet Vlotho (Jay) and Richard DeYoung of Craig; his father Joseph "Joe" Sorgdrager DeYoung (Charlotte); his brothers, Joey De Young, Milo DeYoung and Vernon DeYoung; and his sister-in-law Pam DeYoung of Spirit Lake.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home (780 12th St SW, Le Mars, IA 51031).
