Timothy Mach Obituary
Timothy David Mach, age 66, died unexpectedly in his home in Mesa, Arizona, on May 18, 2026. We are greatly saddened by losing him so soon.
Tim was born on May 26, 1959, in Moose Lake, Minnesota, to Edward and Stella Mach, growing up on the family's dairy farm in Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota. He graduated with the Willow River High School Class of 1977, where he loved playing football with the Wildcats, enjoyed dairy cattle judging, and discovered he had a talent and a love for writing and art.
He left the farm in 1977 to work at Brockway Glass in Rosemount and later at Menasha Corporation in Lakeville, Minnesota. In 1987, Tim earned a degree from Dakota County Vo-Tech in Distribution Center Operations & Management. In 2010, Tim additionally graduated with Honors from Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Management for Technical Professionals.
Shortly thereafter, when Tim's children both decided to leave Minnesota for California and Arizona, Tim decided to start a new chapter and moved to sunny Phoenix, Arizona, with his son, Adam. His sister, Janet, also lived in Arizona, allowing him to continue to be close to family, which was so important to him. In Arizona, Tim continued in his writing, filling many journals with stories of the life he left behind in Minnesota and published them for his siblings.
Tim was a lifelong number one fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, and Minnesota Wild, but he did not like the cold Minnesota winters. Tim loved sports of all kinds and could name any player and statistic. He embraced the Arizona teams but never gave up on his dream of one day seeing those Vikings win a Super Bowl, if only they would listen to him.
But make no mistake, Tim's love of being Papa to his grandchildren was foremost in his life. He was the kind of grandpa that engaged with them on their level and they adored him.
Tim was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Howard (1993); father, Edward (1998); mother, Stella (2012); and his sister, Arlene, who passed just five days prior to Tim on May 13, 2026.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Amanda Narveson of Sacramento, California, with grandchildren Emily, 22; Brianna, 17; Zachary, 16; and Madison, 14; and his son, Adam Mach (Jen) of Phoenix, Arizona, with grandchildren Sophie, 12; Lilly, 10; Stella, 8; and Chad, 1.
Tim has seven surviving siblings: Connie, Dorothy, Janet, Jim, Karen, John, and Kathy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tim's funeral services are scheduled for June 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota, followed by a luncheon at the church. A burial, with family, will be immediately thereafter in the St. Isidore's Catholic Cemetery where all his family preceding him in death are also interred.
Tim leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, stories, and love that will never be forgotten.
