He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson D. Hess and Frances Scott Hess; his former wife Concetta Fraumeni Hess; and his sisters, Betty Traskos, Barbara Herrick and Dorothy Delarm.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth M. McBride; and his children, Gary Wilson Hess of California and Mary Frances Hess Strobel of Mesa, Arizona.. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
