Debbie Anne Surin Obituary
Debbie was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on March 10, 1966 to Donald and Eileen (née Ryan) Schultz. After Donald's passing, the family moved to Phoenix in 1969.
After graduating from Arcadia High School, she attended Scottsdale Community College, then graduated from the University of Phoenix in 1999 with a B.A. in Accounting.
Debbie met her husband Joe at Grace Community Church in Tempe where they were married in 1999. The two of them served side by side in various churches for almost 30 years in the Valley, Grand Canyon National Park, and Roaring Spring, PA.
Debbie worked in accounting and bookkeeping at PricewaterhouseCoopers; Sarvas, King, and Coleman; Delaware North; then retired as Finance Director at Grace Community Church.
She enjoyed vacationing at the beach in Mexico and Rehoboth, DE, or sitting on the deck of a cabin with her family and dogs in the mountains. Debbie loved reading books, learning photography, scrapbooking pictures, making soap, and cracking jokes. She loved her dogs Johnson, Carter, Pepper, and Mr. Russell.
Debbie spent the last 8 months living at Jim and Patti's Assisted Living Home in Mesa where she received exemplary care every moment of every day.
Debbie is dancing with the Lord in Heaven as she waits to again see the love of her life, Joe, her precious sons Peter and Matthew, mother Eileen (née Ryan) Foster, brother Steve (Peggy) Schultz, brother Tom Schultz, sister-in-law Stephani Surin, and brothers-in-law Dave (Cherie) Surin, John Surin, and Mark (Debbie) Surin. She cherished and loved numerous nieces and great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. She is preceded in death by her dad Donald Schultz and stepdad Luke Foster.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for April 10, at 11 a.m. in the Lamb Chapel at Grace Community Church, 1200 East Southern Avenue, Tempe, AZ 85282.
