She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schmelling and Winnifred Schmelling; her husband Richard Lucas; and her brothers, Richard "Dickie" Schmelling and Wesley Schmelling.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Lucas Stevens (Mark) and Lori Lucas Bell (Jeff); and her brother Donald Schmelling. She is also survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
