He is survived by: his wife Delphina; his children, Ernest Gomez Jr., Christopher Gomez, Porfirio Chavez Jr. and Stella Chavez; and his niece Christina Gomez. He is also survived by several nephews, 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
