He was predeceased by: his parents, Haviel Sierra and Fidela Sierra. He is survived by: his siblings, Gilbert, Robert, Gloria and Carrie; his nephew Robert Leal; his wife Marie; his children, Christine, Jennifer (Kim), Andrew and Stephanie (John); and his grandchildren, Sean, Jason, Aidan, Kylin, Alani, Fernando and Venezia.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home (4800 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85018). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery (2033 N 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Arizona Hospice & Palliative Care Organization at ahpco.org, in gratitude for the compassionate care Ernest received. We have also set up a GoFundMe campaign for the Ernie Sierra Scholarship to support a student athlete from Independence High School.
