He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda; and his daughter Pamela. He is survived by: his children, Steve (Cheryl) and Donna (Ted); his grandchildren, Colby (Melissa), Joshua, Jason, Stacy and Stephanie; his brother Wayne (Luci); and his close friend Jeanon Lynch. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

During the Covid pandemic, with seniors being so isolated, he supported and advocated for the implementation of outreach to seniors through technology.
