He is survived by: his brother Frank Ernst; his son George Ernst III; his daughter-in-law Sharon Ernst; his granddaughter Alexis Soto (Robert Soto); and his great grandchild Aiden Soto.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's name to the VA Hospital, in gratitude for the care provided to veterans and in honor of George's lifelong commitment to service.
