Geraldine Janet Whaley Obituary

Geraldine Janet Whaley, 82, of Phoenix, passed away on October 29, 2013 in Phoenix, AZ. She was born on February 3, 1931 to Frederick and Loretta (Smith) Jones in Chicago, IL. She married Robert on April 8, 1950 in Chicago, IL. To this union were born 5 children. Geraldine and Robert lived in Chicago, IL before moving to Phoenix in 1968.

She loved backpacking, hiking , camping and family activities. Geraldine is survived by her loving spouse of 63 years, Robert; 2 Daughters – Linda E. Flesher, and Janet Lee Ward; 2 Sons Glen Robert Whaley, and Steven Eric Whaley; 2 Grand Children, Janice Jenkins, and Andrea Huffmon; 3 Great Grand Children, Noah Huffmon, Ivy Huffmon and Luke Huffmon; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, Loretta Janet Jones; Father, Frederick Jones; Son, Larry Allen; and Grandson, Don Flesher. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on November 16, 2013 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1407 N. Second St., Phoenix, AZ 85004. Contributions in Geraldine"s honor are suggested to Sage Hospice, 5111 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite #155, Scottsdale, AZ 85250.
