He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Eric Gerdes, Tracie Kraemer (Matthew), Timothy Gerdes (Mary), David Gerdes (Jessica), Frances Shrestha (Rajesh) and Jonathan Gerdes (Molly); and his sisters, Anna McIntosh (Dal), Judy Nelson (Tom) and Donna Weingart (Daryl). He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren.
