He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenora Davis, (Nora) and James Gibson Davis, Sr. (Gib); and his wife JoEllen. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Davis (Patty) and Bette McKinney (Julian); and his children, Barbara (Gino Zappia), Joanne (Jay Slotkin) and Jamie (Elaine Davis). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews, and eight grandnieces/nephews.
