He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bowen, and Voncile Bowen, Sr.; his brother Tyrone Bowen, Sr.; his in-laws, Earl Hall, Eva and Leon Alexander; his sister-in-law Earline Moore; his nephews, Marlow Prescott and Willie Prescott Sr.; and his niece Jazzlyn Prescott.
He is survived by: his wife Sherley; his children, John III, Eva and Kimberly; his grandchildren, Andre and Terrell; and his siblings, Patricia Prescott, Dorothy Burns (Leon), Geraldine Walker, Elaine Cook, Paul Bowen, Sr. (Vickie), Jeffery Bowen, Sr. (Gerri), Stacey Bowen and Brian Bowen, Sr.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
