He is survived by: his children, Alan Brittain, Jon Brittain (Teresa) and Debbie Shee (Dave); his sister Helen Lee; and his grandchildren, Christie, Casey Shee, Wesley and Mark Brittain. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name can be made to either the Animal Welfare League and SPCA or to the National Alzheimer's Organization.
