It is with sadness that the passing of John Thomas Barnard Jr. (Phoenix, Arizona) is shared. John Thomas, born on March 2, 1947, passed away on October 9, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Barnard Sr. and Edna; and his brother Dale Barnard. He is survived by: his wife Joann; his children, Chrystena Mottonen and Travis; his son-in-law John; his grandchildren, Allison, Brandon and Bryanne; and his siblings, Virginia Bellomy and Alex Jewel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hansen Mortuary (8314 N 7th St, Phoenix, AZ 85020). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona (2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the VFW Post 9400 (804 E Purdue Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85020).
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the Military Order of the Cooties in memory of John T. Barnard Jr.
