Leslie Melvin Roberts Obituary
Leslie Melvin Roberts, age 72, passed away suddenly on March 23rd, 2026, in Phoenix, AZ following a brief period of recovery from surgery.
Les was born on December 12, 1953, in Eureka, CA to Ross and Suzanne Roberts. In his youth, he enjoyed being in the outdoors and loved to fish. He was an avid swimmer and a talented pianist with a deep love for music.
Les was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, joining the church at the age of 18. His decision to join led to his whole family joining, which had a great impact on many lives. He served as a missionary for the church in the Hawaii Honolulu mission from 1974-76. He later attended Brigham Young University where he met Bonnie Lloyd. They were married on April 21st, 1978, and shared 23 years of marriage and eight children.
Les enjoyed his profession as a CPA and continued doing tax work for clients up until his death. He found great meaning in his faith and cherished the many friendships he formed through years of church service. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them whenever he could.
25 beloved grandchildren. Brothers: Paul, David, and Jeff Roberts. Cousins: Nancy, Susan, and Bill Roberts, Ann Hermann Crider, and Louise Hermann. Best Friend: Elie Georges.
He is preceded in death by: Parents: Ross Ellison and Suzanne Rosalani Bisset Roberts.
In keeping with Les's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. The family plans to hold a memorial service later this year to allow family and friends to gather and honor his memory.
