He is survived by: his parents, Norma Beckmann (Dennis) and Will McLain (Lois); his siblings, Erin Thomas (Jeff) and Michael McLain (Emily McCarthy); and his nieces, Regan and Eliana Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made to the Seena Magowitz Foundation in Matt's name.
