She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Henry Parkinson and Gwenllian Parkinson; her brothers, Thomas and Richard Parkinson; and her nieces, Valerie Patel, Stefanie Glass, Gwenllian Parkinson and Crystal Stone. She was also cherished by ten children, and many friends.

She got carried away crocheting beads on girls' socks and had so many that she donated them to the Raleigh School for the Blind.
