He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Kauffman and Fannie Kauffman (Miller); his wife Mary; and his sons, Roger and Richard.

He is survived by: his son Cliff; his daughter-in-law Ada of Chesapeake, VA; his daughter Darlene Niederschulte; his son-in-law Michael of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Julie Kauffman and James (Tina); his great grandchildren, Elsie Frey, Eli Frey and Eva Kauffman; and his sisters, Ella Kauffman and Carrie Kauffman.
