It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Joseph Hopkins of Phoenix, Arizona, who passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Schoonmaker and Agnes Murphy Schoonmaker of Hancock, NY.; and his granddaughter Kaitlyn McHolland. He is survived by: his aunt Mildred Schoonmaker Hopkins (Rupert Hopkins) of McGraw, NY.; his wife Louise VanInwagen; his children, Becky Hopkins McHolland (Kevin) and David Hopkins; his grandchildren, Megan McHolland and David Clay Hopkins; his brothers, Sonny Schoonmaker (Barb) and Bill Schoonmaker; his sister-in-law Bertha Schoonmaker; his close friends, Duane and Margaret Bradford; Sandra and Steve of Ontario.
