He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edward Schmal and Katie O'Hara; his wife Jean Schmal; and his siblings, Ed Schmal (Miki) of Aurora, CO and Anne Stobart (Rich) of North Barrington, IL. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital or your favorite charity.
