Robert Irvin Galloway Obituary
Robert Irvin Galloway (Bob) passed away in Phoenix, AZ on November 7, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 27, 1939, in Chicago, Ill to parents Everett Galloway Sr. and Hallie Louise Frank. He was preceded in death by his parents and his Sister-in-law Dorothy Galloway.
Bob, as he was known to many friends, was a computer analyst and worked for numerous companies over his lifetime. Among them, Regensteiner Publishing Enterprise in Chicago, Ill and Lexus Nexus in Dayton, OH and Ft Lauderdale, Fl. He retired to Somerset, KY in 2005. Bob was an avid theater buff, had attended over 900 plays and musicals in his lifetime, and cherished the playbills to each one. He volunteered at Memorial Hall for Kenley Players and the Victoria Theater in Dayton, Ohio. He was a serious collector of stamps, coins, pottery, and books and loved to go antiquing any chance he got. He also enjoyed the flea market and horse races. He loved to read and was seldom seen without a book in his hand. Bob never married and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and loving family. To know Bob/Irvin was to enjoy his quirky personality and dry humor. He could make anyone laugh and question his or her knowledge, as he was an amazing trivia buff. He will be missed deeply by all.
Bob is survived by his brother, Everett (Bud) Galloway Jr. of Brookville, OH, his sister, Lucy Helen Johnson (Johnny/Oscar) of Phoenix, AZ, many nieces and nephews, dear friends, and his beloved cats Anna Ai and Leroi.
