He was predeceased by : his parents, Werner Alpers and Anna Alpers (Heiden); and his son Kurt (Cheri). He is survived by : his wife Barbara; his children, Nancy (Laura), Kathryn (Brian) and Bill (Concetta); his grandchildren, Michael (Abbi), Patrick, Will (Pam), Brian (Pippa), Kristopher (Kelly) and Erica; his great grandchildren, Noah, Eddie, Elizabeth, Victoria, Freya, Myles and Luka; his sister Lois; and his daughter-in-law Cheri.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery (6500 E Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
