She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Bertram and Elizabeth Halasz Vaida; her husband Richard Edward Byron; and her brother Stephen Joseph Vaida. She is survived by: her children, Richard K. Byron (Marianne) and Lisa Sallurday (Bill); her grandchildren, Tiffanie Byron, Sarah Schneider (David), Mary Catherine Byron, Jessica Sallurday and Emilee Sallurday; her great grandchildren, Tristan, Nathaniel, Michael and Vaida Schneider; and her siblings, Frank Vaida, Ann Vaida and Allen Vaida. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Benedict Catholic Church (16223 S 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85048).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Violet and Richard Byron Scholarship Fund at Penn State Scranton, which supports veteran students who have excelled in the classroom.
