He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldor William Schmidt and Sarah Hannah Heins; and his brother Merritt Keith. He is survived by: his sister Nadine Rosenberg (Edward); his children, Karen Reynolds (Steve), Kathryn McNeil (Kerry), RaShell King (Frank), Lynette Durrant (David), Gerald Schmidt (Leasa), Wayne Schmidt (Kathy), Randy Schmidt (Tara) and Kevin Schmidt (Sheri); his sisters, Clarissa Iona, Rachel Lois McDonald (John) and Nathalie Corinne Williamson (Robert); and his grandsons, Steven Kade Perkins, Brock Reynolds and Shane Reynolds. He is also survived by 41 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren.
