He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Huizenga and Florence Huizenga (Maas); and his sister Wilmetta "Willie" Punt (Pat Christofferson). He is survived by: his former wife Betty Hubers; his wife Kathleen Gillis of Prescott, AZ; his brothers, Ray Huizenga of Lynden, Norm Huizenga and Roger Huizenga of Platte; his children, Kevin, Kent, Sharon (Robert), Laura, Duane (Jill), Shaila (Lauren), Jon (Emmy), Dana and Gillian (Jeff); Shaila, Dana and Jon Christofferson. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many, many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Christian Reformed Church (520 Wyoming Ave, Platte, SD 57369).
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
