He was predeceased by: his parents, Jo Ann Sullivan and Robert C. Long; and his son Rory Crayton Long. He is survived by: his wife Charlene Long; his children, George Long (Jeri), Shonna Ormerod (Patrick), Kim Long (Virgil), Brian Long (Rebecca), Kenneth Bowles and Katrina Pritchard (Tyrel); and his sisters, Kathy Twitty and Patricia Mosher. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Twentieth Street Chapel (303 W 20th St, Safford, AZ 85546).
