He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Fenzel (Curtin) and Alfred J. Fenzel. He is survived by: his children, Cristin (Kevin Fallon) of Seattle, WA, Michael (Tabitha) of Mesa, AZ and Daniel (Abigail) of Mesa, AZ; his siblings, Joseph of Mequon, WI, Peter of Point Pleasant, NJ and Marianne of Eastchester, NY; and also Arlene (Plunkett). He is also survived by his cousins, nieces, and nephews; and one grandson.

“Just read of Al's passing and very sadened by the news. I was Al's opposing counsel on a several capital cases in Maricopa that proceeded to trial. The cases are difficult for all but litigating with Al was a pleasure, as I am sure all of you experienced. All of only a few years my senior and we enjoyed talking about our families... and the cost of the dorms at Notre Dame. We never would pass each other without stopping to talk. Sorry I was not at the service.”
