Smitty, beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 54.
Born on August 26, 1971, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Christopher grew up surrounded by family who nurtured his gentle spirit, curious mind, and strong work ethic. Those qualities remained with him throughout his life and were evident in the way he cared for others and approached every challenge.
Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Leroy Smith and Karen Lee Christensen, and by his sister, Shounde Lynn Smith. Their love and memories remained close to his heart throughout his life, serving as a lasting source of strength and comfort.
A lifelong plumber, Christopher took great pride in his craft. As the owner of Tradesmith of Arizona, he built a reputation for exceptional workmanship, honesty, and unwavering reliability. To Christopher, plumbing was more than a profession—it was an opportunity to serve others with integrity and excellence. He approached every job with patience, skill, and genuine care, earning the respect and trust of customers, coworkers, and friends alike.
Christopher found peace in the White Mountains of Arizona, especially at the cabin he loved so dearly. It was his sanctuary—a place where he could slow down, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of nature. Surrounded by towering pines and fresh mountain air, he found the quiet comfort that restored his spirit.
Above all else, Christopher's greatest joy was his daughter, Ashley Danielle Garcia. She was the light of his life and the person he loved most deeply. Their bond was built on unconditional love, pride, and unwavering devotion. Ashley brought him endless happiness, and he treasured every moment they shared.
Christopher found happiness in life's simple blessings: sharing meals with loved ones, meaningful conversations, the beauty of the outdoors, and time spent with Ashley and family. He expressed his love not through grand gestures, but through quiet acts of service, steadfast dependability, and a willingness to help whenever he was needed.
Christopher is survived by his beloved daughter, Ashley Danielle Garcia; his sisters, Tracy (Lynn) Shumway of Eagar, Arizona, Kellie (Juan) Monterrosa of Corsicana, Texas, and Shonde (Chris) Burgess of Kremmling, Colorado; his brother, Spencer (Tammy) Smith of Duncan, Arizona; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Ashley and his family will continue to honor Christopher's legacy by living with the kindness, strength, resilience, and compassion he so lovingly demonstrated throughout his life.
Although Christopher's passing leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy of generosity, humility, laughter, and faithful love will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
