He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Houser and Rosemary Houser (Buchtela); his wife Patricia Auten; and his siblings, Otto, Francis, Leonard and Rosemary Maresh.

He is survived by: his children, Jim (Tammy), Jane Stimbert (Mike), Terri Micale (Nick) and Susie Romo (Ron); his sister Rita Sebastian; and his close friend Rosa Masson. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
