He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Donald Gilbert and Ruth Riddle Gilbert. He is survived by: his daughters, Natalie Gilbert of Scottsdale and Kim Washington (Joseph) of Jonesborough; his grandson Elijah Washington; his stepgranddaughter A'mya Washington; his sister Teresa Droke; and his close friends, Sally Betterton of Erwin and Karen O'Donnell of Scottsdale.
