He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Vincent Schaefer and Jacqueline Schaefer (van der Hagen); and his son Robert. He is survived by: his wife Irene Kost; his children, Eileen Landes (Ken), Susan Pusel (Tom), Tom Schaefer (Linda), Karen Blubaugh (Bill) and Mary Schaefer (David Crain); and his brother James Schaefer. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great grand children.
