He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward (Dorothy Mae Derk) and D. C.; and his sister Jacqualine Derk-Moore. He is survived by: his wife Artemis Davitian-Derk; his son Darryl E. Derk, Jr. (Jennifer Trite); his granddaughter Kadence Derk; his niece Debbie Moore-Chason; his nephew Robert L. Moore, Jr. (Kim); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Taylor Chason, Charlotte Moore, Joe Chason and Lee Moore; and his brother-in-law Robert L. Moore, Sr..
