Mary (Metcalf) Morrow Obituary

In Loving Memory of Mary Metcalf Morrow: Celebrating a Life Filled with Love

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Metcalf Morrow, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She departed this world on Friday, May 26th, and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Mary's unwavering spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born and raised in Seattle, Mary developed a passion for the Puget Sound at an early age. In addition to dancing and cheerleading, she spent many delightful hours on the water with her parents Ethel and Ken Metcalf and her brother Mike Metcalf, as they sailed with the Seattle Yacht Club community. After completing her education at the University of Washington, Mary embarked on a remarkable journey that took her to various cities across the United States.

Mary dedicated herself to raising her family, providing them with love and care in California, Michigan, and Indiana, before eventually returning to her beloved Seattle. In her professional life, Mary achieved great success starting in pharmaceutical sales and copiers before being recruited to Apple Computer in 1984 as one of Steve Job’s legendary initial hires for the Macintosh focusing on higher education in the Northwest region. With her exceptional sales skills, she consistently ranked among the top performers year after year, including as a Golden Apple recipient leaving an indelible mark on the company.

Driven by her passion for helping others, Mary pursued her master's degree from Bastyr University to become a licensed therapist. She generously shared her knowledge and expertise as a teacher at Bellevue College, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of her students. Mary's commitment to personal growth and her unwavering determination were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Mary decided to embark on a new adventure, relocating from the Seattle area to the Sun City West, AZ. She embraced this change with open arms and found immense joy in the company of her wonderful friends. Her love for dancing, theater, and music was ever-present in her life, and she brought a contagious enthusiasm wherever she went. She was known for her commitment to her friends and created lasting memories with those closest to her. Mary's vivacious personality was truly extraordinary.

As we say farewell to Mary, we find solace in knowing that she is finally at peace. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Mary's absence will be deeply felt by all who loved her. Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Susie Morrow Aarts, and her son, James A Morrow. She was also blessed with four grandsons, Tommy Aarts (wife Christina) and Steve Aarts of Seattle and LJ Morrow and Alex Morrow of Spokane who brought immeasurable joy to her life along with their mother Suchada Morrow (husband Jeff Sillin). Mary has loving nieces and nephews on both the Metcalf and Morrow side of the family as well as her older brother, Mike Metcalf. She has wonderful extended family and friends who were constant companions throughout her journey.

Rest in peace, dear Mary. You will be missed, but your vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know you.
