He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean M. Hayes Litow and Morton S. Hayes; and his stepparent Litman Litow of Salisbury, MD.. He is survived by: his wife Robin Varette; his children, Samuel Hayes, Alana Hayes and Davi Hayes (Emily); his grandchildren, Olivia Long, Julia Long, Theodore Hayes and Noah Hayes; his sister Susan Westenberger; and his stepsiblings, Leon Litow (Helen) and Dena Litow Hirsh (Robert). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
