He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alexander and Elthia Alexander. He is survived by: his wife Carole; his children, David and Kristie; and his stepchildren, Randal and Tracy. He is also survived by five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Darrell's name to American Lutheran Church of Sun City.
