He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Russell and Mildred Fern McConaughy (Newhard); his son Dr. Jim McConaughy; his daughter-in-law Mary Tosh McConaughy; his brother Bill; and his sister-in-law Marian McConaughy.

He is survived by: his children, Laura Jenkins (Jack), Marty McConaughy (Jodi), Mark McConaughy (Mary) and Jill Sego (Jake); his grandchildren, Jason Jenkins (Becca), Sally Snyder (Dave), Susie Elsasser, Lyle James McConaughy II, Kirstan Naber (Chris), Mary Kate McConaughy, Adam Linder (Michele) and Marianne McConaughy; his great grandchildren, Will, Sean Snyder, Jimmy, Skyler Linder, Novi, Hank Jenkins, Carly, Lauren Elsasser, Kynlie and Callen Naber; and his brother Ron McConaughy (Sue). He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
