He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Cochrane and Irma Cochrane. He is survived by: his children, Carrie and Patrick; and his sister Kathy. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He completed his career as department chairman of education at Hastings and received the college's highest honor, the Pro Rege Award for his contributions to the school - particularly his role in developing the Master's degree program.
