He was predeceased by: his parents, Doc Hannan and Ellen Hannan; his daughter Janet; and his siblings, Kathleen and James.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy (Carmichael); his daughter Barbara Fairclough; his son-in-law Richard Fairclough; and his brother Richard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He donated his time and expertise and mentored many people throughout his life.
