He was predeceased by: his parents, Orin B Barney and Opal J Barney; and his siblings, Wayne, Kenneth and Geri.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; and his children, Kenneth (Samantha), James (Kristin), Jeffrey (Mandy), Bevan, Robert (Darcy), Davey (Tracy) and Ann (David). He is also survived by previous marriage; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
