He is survived by: his sister Mary Carpenter; his children, Carl Filleman (Nan) and Linda Edwards (Alan); his grandchildren, Sara, Daniel, Emily, Alan Jr., Jarad and Colter; and his pet Beau. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
