Aurelia V. Vega Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aurelia V. Vega in Tucson, Arizona, born in Tubac, Arizona, who passed away on September 8, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruperto Vasquez and Carmen Vasquez; and her siblings, Cayetano, Ruperto, Alberto, Amelia and Angelina.
She is survived by: her children, Rudy (Patricia), Richard, Rupert (Sally), Robert and Edie (Gilbert); and her grandchildren, Andrea, Jeremy, Joseph, Monica, Eric, Alex, Vanessa, Rosalia, Xavier, Jaime and Estrella. She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson (2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Santa Cruz Catholic Church (1220 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the South Lawn Cemetery (5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706).
Education was of great importance to Aurelia, who took great pride in obtaining her GED and pursuing various courses throughout her life, including studies in basic nutrition, accounting, keyboarding, basic computer skills, and childcare at Pima College during this time she made meaningful contributions to her community by helping the elderly with transportation to their medical appointments.
