She was predeceased by: her father Gilbert H. Avelar; her stepfather Richard; her uncle Neto; her godson Adrian; and her sister-in-law Peggy.
She is survived by: her mother Ernestine O. Olmos; her husband Joseph; her sons, Gilbert (Nichol) and Eric; her grandchildren, Alexa, Elijah and Michael; and her sister Susan Carreon (Jose). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
