We announce the death of Barbara R. Nelson in Tucson, Arizona, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 91. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Mattingly and Jennie Mattingly; and her grandsons, Robert Allen Carrell and Brent Ryan Nelson. She is survived by: her children, Sherrie Nelson Carrell, Dale Nelson, Jon Nelson and Chad Nelson; her grandchildren, Crista Carrell Richins, Malissa Carrell Stradling, Michael Nelson, Tyler Nelson and Stacey Nelson Payne; her great grandchildren, Jase Richins, Kennedy Richins, Blake Richards, Michael Nelson and Samantha Nelson; and her close friend Robert Nelson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bring's Broadway Chapel (6910 E Broadway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85710). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Tucson North Stake Center (105 N Norton Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719). A burial was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the East Lawn Cemetery (5801 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712).
