He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Kluis and Bertha Kluis (Hofkamp); his siblings, Marvin Kluis and Marlee; his siblings-in-law, Herb Zeutenhorst, Elmer Hofmeyer and Merrie Lynn Kluis; and his parents-in-law, Fannie and Gerald Vande Brake.

He is survived by: his wife Lonna Vande Brake; his daughters, Carrie Brandt (Jamison Sweet), Mickell (Kelly), Heemstra (Scott), Natalee Van Gelder (Bryan) and Jaclyn Mason (Ralph); his grandchildren, Anna Brandt, Jordan, Carter, Zoe Heemstra, Caden and Keeran Van Gelder; and his siblings, Wanda Hofmeyer, Rod (Darlene), Herm Kluis, Frank (Karla Fendrick), Mike (Barb Metzinger) and Jim (Pam Vande Brake). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Bristol Hospice in Tucson, Arizona, and Orange City Home Health and Hospice, Orange City, Iowa.
