He is survived by: his wife Gaylia; his children, Chris Mathis, Jason Mathis (Danielle), Jacob Mathis, Jennifer Escobar, Karl Mathis, Penelope Epler (Keith), Tammy Hoth and Jeremy Otero; and his siblings, Glory Wilma Farley, Charlotte Ann Reed, Karen Kay Padilla (Eugene) and Merrym Dawn Bruce. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
