He was predeceased by: his father Herbert A. Nitz. He is survived by: his mother Frances Sue Nitz (Turley); his sister Janci Sue Matykiewicz (Nitz); his brother-in-law Andrew Paul Matykiewicz; and his sibling's children, Charles Edward Matykiewicz and Emily Sue Hutcheson (Matykiewicz).
