With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jesus G. Burruel (Tucson, Arizona), born in South Tucson, Arizona, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 2, 2025 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his wife Mercedes Tellez Burruel (Mercy); his parents, Antonia Gallego and Manuel Burruel; and his siblings, Alcario, Francisco Gastelo, Trinidad, Fernando Burruel, Jose Bernal, Pedro, Vicente, Manuel, Augustin, Atanacio Burruel, Virginia Tellez, Carmela Valdez, Refugia Valles (Cuca) and Amalia Valles.
He is survived by: his children, Jesus "Shorty" Burruel (Carol), Bettina Arvizo (Felix), Mary Anne Armijo (Carlos) and Guadalupe Gastelum (Andres); his grandchildren, Coy Burruel, Adrian, Augustin, Adam Arvizo, AnaMarie, Carlos "Buddy" Armijo, Bernardo (BJ), Toni, Araceli, Andrea and Angelique Gastelum; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Joplin, Indie, Penelope, Axel, Gianna and Hunter; and his sister Rosario Bernal-Mendibles.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pima Council on Aging or the Arizona Alzheimer's Consortium.
