He was predeceased by: his parents, Enrique S. Bartning and Belen R. Bartning; his siblings, Belen B, Dolores B. Linde and Carlos E. Bartning; his brother-in-law Manuel E. Aguirre; and his nephew Enrique Aguirre.

He is survived by: his wife Dalila G. Bartning; his sons, Luis Antonio and Enrique Sebastian; and his brothers, Enrique L. Bartning and Alejandro M. Bartning. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
